Biogas is the produce of the fermentation of the biodegradable fraction of waste that is buried in technical landfilling centres.

It has to be pumped to provide dump’s degassing and can be eliminated through burning in a flare or valorised in gas engines or turbines to produce electricity or even heat (cogeneration).

It also can be produced in methanization units from green waste and animals’ excrements.
